Nail Art #16 | New Year Nails

If you're unsure of what to do for your New Years Eve nails, check these out! Adding charms and gems is so easy to do, and can instantly transform simple manicures to glamorous nails.

I did this manicure for a night out on Saturday, but I love this look so much I've decided to keep it on as my New Years Eve nails. The polish is by Model's Own in Green Tea, but it's actually darker than it looks in the photos I took.

I bought some gold charms awhile ago, and decided one of these on each hand would look so simple yet effective. I couldn't get my nail glue open, so I used Seche Vite's top coat to attach the charm. I was expecting this charm to fall off within hours, but the charm has stayed on since Saturday.

You can buy charms and gems from loads of different shops like H&M, Boots and Superdrug.

LiLash & LiBrow updates!

Last month I posted a blog entry about LiLash, and now the time has come to update you all on my lashes and brows! I was told I'd notice some difference after one month of using the LiLash and LiBrow, and that after three months, I'd have noticeably more fuller, longer lashes, and thicker brows.

So it's been a month of using LiLash and LiBrow, and I have noticed some difference! Check out my previous LiLash entry to see the before photos.

You can see in the first photo that my lashes are gradually lifting up, and in the second photo, you can see I have more outer lashes! My lashes are definitely getting fuller. When I apply mascara, my lashes look amazing! Hopefully I'll have even longer and fuller lashes after the three month induction. This product is working!

I haven't noticed any difference in my brows, which is a real shame, but I'll still be trying the product out for the next two months to see if there's any difference.

Victoria Secret's mini haul!

Victoria's Secrets finally opened in the Bullring! I'm so happy it's finally in my city. I've been to the stores in London, but as I don't live there anymore I can't stroll around and pick up underwear I can't afford. Anyway...

I picked up a gift set (...for me...) which had a varsity crew and leggings in for £54.50 (!). I was going to get a varsity by itself but that was £44.50, and well, I kind of justified my purchase by saying things like "I need leggings...It works out a bit cheaper because you get leggings...I like this varsity over the others... I also want the free toy dog..." They are so comfortable! And I'm pretty sure the leggings have some kind of heat technology in them, they keep me so warm compared to my other leggings... The Pink range is full of soft loungewear, I just wish I had more money to buy it all...

I picked up a bottle of body spray in Pure Seduction. I purchased this a few years ago but as I was running out I picked up the same one, and I also picked up the Eau De Toilette version too. I'll be honest, the Toilette version doesn't last much longer than the body spray... Oh well.

Have you bought anything from Victoria's Secret?

Special Delivery #15 | The Tail Wagger Christmas box

In my Christmas guide for dogs post, I mentioned that I had ordered a Tail Wagger box for Freddie. It came today! I couldn't wait until Christmas Day to open it, so I opened it without Freddie around. He's already started sniffing the box, no doubt smelling the delicious treats in the box!

In the box, I received five treats and two toys:

The treats: Soopa Coconut chews, Alfie & Molly's Lamb Bites, Lucy's Carrot Crunchers, Leanlix in Run-a-way Frank, Veni-Dog Pure Venison Chew Stick, I will admit, I would not have picked these treats for Freddie if i'd seen them in a shop. I'm excited to try all of the treats out, but I'm also a bit worried as he's quite a picky eater. He will be more likely to taste the meaty treats first rather than the carrot biscuits and coconut chews.

The toys: A cuddly Rudolph toy and a Gor Flex Bouncy Ball. I've been meaning to get Freddie a bouncy ball for awhile, but I'm not sure about this one as it's rubber. The rubber picks up all the dirt on the floor, and although it'll be easy to clean, it's still a bit gross.

I can't wait for Freddie to open this on Christmas Day! First we'll go walkies in the morning, and I'll give him his box. He can open boxes by using his snout to lift the flap, so i'll let him do that and let him pick which treat he wants first.

What do you think of dog subscription boxes? Would you order one for your four-legged friend?

Special Delivery #14 | I'm one of Superdrug's #NailThatFestiveFeeling winners!

(From L-R, Rockstar, VIP, Catwalk Queen, Fashion Icon, Socialite, Starlet.)

I won a competition! Yay! I tweeted my Christmas Manicure to Superdrug who were running the competition and I had forgotten all about it, as I do with most competitions... Low and behold I saw a DM from Superdrug saying I had won!

I had won the collection of Glitterati Nail Paints by Barry M, as well as their Gelly High Shine Lips. The Glitterati Nail Paints are packed full of iridescent glitter, which I LOVE! When I swatched these polishes, I felt like I should have been a mermaid! These shades made me feel super girly and magical. I can't wait to create some nail art with these.

The Gelly Hi Shine Lips are super moisturising and pigmented. I can't wait to use these, I don't know which shade to go for first!

I am so grateful to have won these polishes and lip crayons! Thanks so much for picking me as one of your winners, Superdrug!

What are your favourite shades of Glitterati?

Christmas Gift Guide: for Dogs

I love spoiling my dog, and I spend more money on him nearer Christmas time. I especially love to tease him leading up to Christmas with his presents. If I've bought him a squeaky toy, i'll wrap it up and squeak it from time to time. It gets him so excited and curious. Then Christmas Day comes and he can, with some help, open his present!

This year I won't be buying him individual presents, instead I've bought him a box from The Tail Wagger, as they had a 50% code over Black Friday Weekend. I chose the medium sized box, meaning I'd get 4-6 items chosen based on the profile of my dog. This would be a really nice surprise for my dog and I, as I always buy him the same treats. I can't wait for it to arrive!

Whether you're a new dog owner or not, or you love your friend's dog, here are some gift ideas for the dogs in your life:

1. Pet Munchies Chicken Breast Fillets
Made from finest quality white breast meat they are low in fat and high in protein. Slow roasting in their own natural juices preserves the real flavour of the chicken. Dogs of all sizes love them, and regular chewing will help to remove plaque. - Barkster
There are also Venison Strips, Duck and Liver treats from the same company. I know my dog loves 100% meat treats, so these would be perfect.

2. Kong Classic
My little Freddie gets a bit frustrated when he can't get his treat, but it does keep him occupied for awhile! My dog also hates peanut butter, so I can't stuff it with that like some websites suggested, so I just rip up a treat and stuff it in there. You can buy a Kong toy from loads of pet websites and stores as they're so popular. The prices range from place to place and also depending on the size of the Kong, I bought mine from eBay as it was the cheapest.

3. Rosewood Chubleez
Chewing stuff is great fun...but sometimes all you really want to do is cuddle. Our appealing designs use assorted fabrics and loads of stuffing to create a great ‘mouth feel’, but all some dogs want to do is find the ‘hidden’ squeak! - Rosewood
My dog loves his little doughnut toy, it's super soft and has one squeaker inside. Once he's found the squeaker he gently bites down to make a squeak, and he genuinely looks quite proud of himself. I think Rosewood have done a great line of toys for moments like these! You can buy Rosewood toys from retails like John Lewis and Amazon.

4. Travel Bowls
Are you the type of person to take your dog out wherever you go? I know I am! These bowls are collapsible so they wont take up much room in your bag. These are great for long car journeys and really long walks in the summer. Pet London currently have a special offer on travel bowls.

5. Bow Tie Collars
Make your dog look super handsome with a bow tie collar! They'll look like they're off to a bow-tie evening and will get everyone swooning with how cute they are. Pet London have some cute tweed bow tie collars.

A lot of people give their dogs much more food during Christmas time, as they want their pet to feel part of the family. But remember: do NOT give your dog sultanas or raisins from your mince pie as these are very toxic to dogs, turkey skin is very fattening, gravy is too salty and onions can kill. If you want to make your dog a Christmas dinner, you can include potatoes, turkey meat and any vegetables like peas and carrots to their bowl.

What are you going to get your dog this Christmas?

Nail Art #15 | Snowflake nails

On a very gloomy day in England, I painted my nails in Barry M's Pink Punch. It is so bright and glossy! I love Barry M's line of Gelly polishes. The polish has the right consistency: it's not too thick that it's a gloop, and not too thin that I need 3 or 4 layers of polish.

I added some cream coloured snow flakes to make them more festive. I think if I added some glitter to the manicure it'd be much more festive, but glitter is so hard to remove!
